Skin Scan is operated by Immortal Ventures LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you use skinscan.guide, how we use it, and what rights you have over your data. If you have questions, please contact us at hello@skinscan.guide.
Information you provide directly. When you sign up for our newsletter, you provide your email address. We collect only what is necessary to deliver the service you are requesting. We do not require an account to use this site.
Automatically collected data. When you visit our website, Vercel (our hosting provider) and Vercel Analytics automatically collect certain technical information including your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and referral source. This data is aggregated and used solely to understand how our site is used and to improve it. It does not identify you personally.
This section applies specifically to the Skin Scan mobile app (available on the App Store and Google Play). The app is operated by Immortal Ventures LLC.
What we collect. When you choose to run a skin scan in the app, you voluntarily capture a photo of your face (or select one from your device photo library) using the camera or photo picker. The image may contain your face, skin, and surrounding features visible in the frame. We do not use Face ID, ARKit face tracking, Apple's Vision face detection, facial recognition, face geometry, or any biometric template. We do not build a facial identity database or attempt to identify you from the image.
How we use the photo. The captured image is used solely to generate your personalized cosmetic skin analysis. The photo is sent to our AI processor (Anthropic Claude — see Section 4) which analyzes visible skin characteristics such as texture, tone, hyperpigmentation, hydration, and common cosmetic concerns. The AI returns a structured analysis report which we store alongside the image in your private account. Your photo is never used to train third-party AI models, and our AI processor has zero-data-retention terms for API traffic.
Where we store the photo. Images are uploaded over HTTPS to private, access-controlled storage operated by Supabase (our backend infrastructure provider) in US data centers. Storage is encrypted at rest. Only your authenticated account can access your images; row-level security policies block cross-account access.
Who we share the photo with. Your photos are NOT shared with any third party for marketing, advertising, model training, or any purpose unrelated to generating your scan result. The only external processor that receives the image is Anthropic (for AI analysis) — see Section 4 for their role and privacy policy. We do not sell your photos. We do not provide them to advertisers, insurers, employers, or data brokers.
How long we retain the photo. Your scan photos and analysis results are retained in your account until you delete them. You can delete any individual scan from within the app's scan history at any time. If you delete your account, all scan photos and associated analysis data are permanently deleted from our storage and database within 30 days. Deletion requests submitted by email (see Section 6) are processed within 30 days.
Permissions. The app requests camera and photo library permission only when you initiate a scan. You can revoke either permission at any time in your device settings; the app will continue to function for non-scan features.
We do not use tracking cookies. Skin Scan does not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking, or any cookies that require consent under GDPR or CCPA.
Vercel Analytics operates without cookies, using privacy-preserving methods to collect aggregated page view data. No personal identifiers are stored in your browser by this site.
